The CentralCasa company

The CentralCasa, Lda company was legally formed in 2003, with the aim of offering the best specialized service in home automation, with added value in know-how, innovation and training.

The majority of the products retailed by CentralCasa use the X10 – technology - a communication protocol based on communication through the electricity network. This system is simple to use and cheap to install, since it uses the existing electricity network. The system has existed in Europe and in the USA for 25 years and ensures compatibility between products.

CentralCasa actively operates in four areas:

Service and product distribution;

Projects for enterprises and houses;

Research and development;

Training;

Until today, several steps have defined the company's path, always characterized by rigour and professionalism, namely:

1999 – Creation of PontoPR, a company specialized in developing distributed applications;

2002 –The first portal dedicated to home automation in Portugal is born – o CentralCasa.com;

2003 –Portal launch in Spanish and English;

2003 – Certification for installing EIB/KNX systems;

2004 – CentralCasa was awarded the 1st prize on the 6th Edition of the Prémio do Jovem Emprendedor (Young Entrepreneur Award), promoted by ANJE (Young Entrepreneurs National Association).

2004 – Launch of the first version of the VisãoWeb application;

2004 – Official distribution of X10 in Portugal;

2004 – Contract with Portugal Telecom (Portuguese Telecommunications service provider), to supply home automation solutions;

2004 – 4th place in the world contest “Ericsson Mobile Awards”, promoted by Ericsson;

2005 – Participation in CEBIT, the largest technology fair in Europe, as development partner of Siemens Smart Home solution;

2005 – Contract with ADI – Agência de Inovação, to support the existing Research & Development group;

2005 – Launch of the website dedicated to the project area of the CentralCasa company, available at www.centralcasa.pt

2006 – The Quality Management System is structured according to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

2007 – Award of the ISO 9001:2000 Certificate.

2007 – Supply of the VisãoWeb platform to Sonaecom, for retail to corporate customers;

Currently, the company has facilities in Lisbon and Porto. Its registered office is located in the North of Portugal, in Vila Nova de Gaia, near the Arrábida bridge (CAM building).
