Installations equipped with a X10 home automation system must be fitted with an SFX 40 suppression filter to prevent X10 signals from leaving the building and to prevent signals from outside affecting the X10 system.
Installation of the filter in the X10 system ensures compliance with all EMC requirements.
Suppression filters can be installed immediately behind the main switch of the installation.
If the building houses heavy machinery, for example, their electrical properties may have a dampening effect on the X10 signals. If the operation of X10 is affected, the suppression filter can be installed between the electrical network and the machine to prevent dampening of the signal.
