The Smart Switch 6 is an intelligent adapter plug which can be switched by mobile remote control, wall switch, smartphone or through automation. Thanks to Z-Wave the Smart Switch 6 is more than an ordinary socket. Plug it into any power outlet in your home and that outlet is instantly smarter because lets you wirelessly control whatever is plugged into it. You can do that via remote control or a smart phone, and from an automation schedule or from the power outlet itself. Now your wall socket is smarter and connected.
And because it’s truly smart, Smart Switch 6 offers much more than just wireless control.

It does that via the Aeotec LED Ring. 16 million colours of light are used to visually communicate how much electricity is being used.

Smart Switch 6 doesn’t just visually communicate how much electricity you’re using, it also reports it back to your Z-Wave gateway in real-time. From anywhere in the world you’ll be able to see which devices are turned on and how much that is costing you. Compatible gateways will also help you store and analyse your historical energy consumption. Besides a colored LED ring at the Smart Switch shows the energy consumption of the connected device.

The LED ring can be configured as follows:
• Disabled: The LED ring is switched off permanently
• Bicolored: Blue shows that the connected device is switched on, White shows that it is switched off
• 16 milion colors: Colors vary from Blue to Yellow, Green up to Red (Blue shows low, Red shows high energy consumption of the connected device)

The Smart Switch 6 has a dimension of only 60 x 60 mm and is therewith 43% smaller than its forerunner - however it is smart and practical. In a time when tablets, smartphones and many other devices can be charged with power via USB it is obvious that Smart Switch 6 owns an additional USB port alongside.
